Redesign for Website Editor by Bizzabo
INTRODUCTION
Web Editor was one of the oldest products in the Bizzabo ecosystem. Originally built as a basic tool for creating event websites, over time it began to feel outdated and disconnected from the rest of the platform. Its interface looked like it belonged to a different decade, adoption rates were low, and many customers preferred to use external solutions instead.
In 2023, we set out to redesign Web Editor into a modern, intuitive, and fully integrated product that feels consistent with the Bizzabo platform.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
The old Web Editor no longer met the needs of our users or the standards of the Bizzabo platform. It felt outdated, hard to use, and was not designed for today’s workflows.
How might we transform Web Editor into a tool that looks modern, works seamlessly across the platform, and makes editing event websites a simple and delightful experience?
BREKDOWN OF THE PROBLEM

PROCESS
We kicked off with a deep evaluation of the current experience:
Usability tests revealed high drop-off rates even during the initial setup.
Competitive analysis showed that external solutions looked and felt far more modern.
Customer interviews highlighted the need for a faster, more intuitive, and visually appealing tool.

SOLUTION
The redesigned Web Editor was built around three core design goals: flexibility, simplicity, and coherence. Each goal translated into tangible product improvements that addressed key user needs.
Feature a modern, refreshed UI aligned with Bizzabo’s design system.
Enable inline content editing directly on the page.
Provide a shared component library for consistency and reusability.
Support drag-and-drop editing, making page building effortless.
Integrate with other Bizzabo products like Sponsors, Agenda, and Networking.
